Teaching Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Chesterfield. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and committed to supporting children in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and improve outcomes.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and assist with classroom management.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs when required.
  • Assist with extracurricular activities, educational visits, and school events.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
