A well-established contractor operating within the rail, infrastructure and civil engineering sectors is looking to recruit an Estimator to join its growing team based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator to join a successful business delivering a diverse range of track, rail and infrastructure projects throughout the UK. The successful candidate will support the existing Estimating Team, helping to ensure accurate costing and planning whilst contributing towards the preparation and submission of quotations, bids and tenders.

The Role

Reporting into the pre-construction and commercial function, you will play a key role in securing future work by preparing competitive and accurate estimates for a variety of projects.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing detailed cost estimates, quotations, bids and tender submissions
Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation
Producing accurate cost plans and pricing schedules
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
Supporting planning and delivery teams with project cost information
Identifying project risks, opportunities and cost-saving solutions
Assisting with tender presentations and client submissions
Supporting the successful handover of awarded projects to operational teams
 

Requirements
HNC qualified or equivalent
Previous experience in an Estimating or similar role
Rail experience would be advantageous, although candidates from construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or other engineering sectors will also be considered
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Technically minded with strong organisational skills
Excellent communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence

This is primarily an office-based role in Doncaster, with occasional travel required to meet clients and attend project-related meetings throughout the UK.
