Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible Options Available)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive educational setting in Doncaster. This rewarding role involves teaching and supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they receive the tailored education, guidance, and support needed to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and create a nurturing learning environment that supports pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other additional learning needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where necessary.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents/carers, and external agencies.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, annual reviews, and multi-agency meetings.
  • Support pupils in developing life skills, confidence, and resilience.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, strategies, and best practice.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working within a specialist SEN school, alternative provision, resource base, or inclusive mainstream setting.
  • Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language Needs, and Complex Learning Difficulties.
  • Experience working with EHCPs and personalised learning programmes.
  • Team Teach or other positive behaviour management training.
  • Evidence of continued professional development in SEND.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
