

Learning Support Assistant
A primary school local to Downend are looking for dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to provide tailored support for pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to make a real difference. You'll build a trusted relationship, helping them face each school day with confidence, consistency and encouragement. This is a great opportunity for a graduate, or anyone with a coaching, social work or youth work background looking to move into education and support students who need it the most.
Your responsbilities will include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
- Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement.
- Supporting children with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Langauge and other SEND.
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have experience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, care, youth work, or similar setting.
- Are passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Are patient, reliable, and adaptable.
- Hold an Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service or are willing to apply.
- Are able to provide 24 months worth of references
