Senior Civil Engineer – Development Infrastructure

I’m currently working with a leading global consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join their established Development Infrastructure team in Dublin or Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer looking to work on major development and infrastructure projects, take greater ownership of technical delivery and build towards the next stage of their career.

The Opportunity - Senior Civil Engineer

You’ll join a collaborative team delivering civil engineering solutions across Ireland and the UK, working with developers, local authorities and major private-sector clients.

You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle — from early feasibility and planning through detailed design and construction — giving you the opportunity to see projects develop from initial concepts through to delivery.

The portfolio includes:

• Development infrastructure
• Highways and transportation
• Drainage and utilities
• Flood risk and surface water management
• SuDS
• Residential developments
• Mixed-use schemes
• Major development and infrastructure projects

You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with specialists across the wider business, including teams working in transport, water, energy, buildings, environment and digital infrastructure.

What will you be doing? - Senior Civil Engineer

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll take increasing responsibility for the technical delivery and coordination of projects, working closely with clients and supporting engineers within the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering civil infrastructure projects 
• Taking ownership of technical packages and project deliverables
• Producing and reviewing engineering designs, drawings and specifications
• Coordinating with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Managing design programmes and ensuring technical quality
• Contributing to planning applications, technical reports and project documentation
• Supporting project managers and senior technical staff with project delivery
• Building positive relationships with clients and other project stakeholders
• Contributing to bids, tenders and wider business development where appropriate

The Technical Side - Senior Civil Engineer

This role is suited to an engineer who enjoys design, technical problem-solving and project delivery.

You’ll ideally have experience across one or more of:

Drainage | Highways | SuDS | Flood Risk | Water Infrastructure | Development Infrastructure

Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage would be beneficial.

Key Requirements - Senior Civil Engineer

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering
• Chartered, or working towards Chartered status
• Experienced within development infrastructure / civil engineering consultancy
• Technically confident across civil infrastructure design
• Comfortable coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams
• Able to take ownership of technical packages and deliverables
• Commercially aware and organised
• Looking for a role with a clear route towards Principal Engineer
