Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a KS3 Classroom Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting in Ferryhill, supporting young people who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education.

The Role
As a KS3 Classroom Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3.
- Adapt your teaching style and approach to meet individual learning needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Create a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment.
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs and barriers to learning.
- Encourage pupils to develop their confidence, independence and engagement.
- Work closely with colleagues to support individual pupils and their educational development.
- Demonstrate resilience, patience and consistency when working with challenging behaviour.
- Have a genuine passion for helping children and young people succeed.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a teacher who:
- Holds QTS.
- Has experience teaching at KS3 level.
- Can confidently plan and deliver effective lessons.
- Is able to adapt teaching styles and resources to suit different learners.
- Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Is resilient, patient and consistent.
- Can build positive relationships with young people who may be disengaged from education.
- Is passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their potential.
- Can work effectively as part of a wider team.
Experience within a PRU, SEMH or alternative provision setting would be beneficial, but a strong mainstream teacher with the right attitude and approach will also be considered.
