An inclusive primary school in Ferryhill is looking for an Occupational Therapy graduate to work as a SEND Learning Support Assistant across EYFS and KS1.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting young children while using the knowledge you've developed through your Occupational Therapy degree.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide support to children with SEND.
• Assist with sensory and fine motor activities.
• Encourage independence and self-confidence.
• Support pupils to participate in classroom activities.
• Help children develop their communication and engagement.
• Follow personalised strategies and recommendations.
• Support teachers with learning activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has an Occupational Therapy degree.
• Has a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Understands child development and additional needs.
• Is patient, caring and resilient.
• Can communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Is willing to learn and develop within a school environment.

Previous experience with children is desirable, but we're also keen to hear from graduates who are looking to take their first step into education.
