An inclusive primary school in Ferryhill is looking for an Occupational Therapy graduate to work as a SEND Learning Support Assistant across EYFS and KS1.
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting young children while using the knowledge you've developed through your Occupational Therapy degree.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide support to children with SEND.
- Assist with sensory and fine motor activities.
- Encourage independence and self-confidence.
- Support pupils to participate in classroom activities.
- Help children develop their communication and engagement.
- Follow personalised strategies and recommendations.
- Support teachers with learning activities.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has an Occupational Therapy degree.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children.
- Understands child development and additional needs.
- Is patient, caring and resilient.
- Can communicate effectively with children and adults.
- Is willing to learn and develop within a school environment.
Previous experience with children is desirable, but we're also keen to hear from graduates who are looking to take their first step into education.
