Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Support Assistant to work within a welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead.

This rewarding role involves supporting a small group of male pupils in Years 3 and 4, helping them to remain focused, engaged and on track with their learning throughout the school day.

The pupils do not present with complex behavioural needs. Instead, the successful candidate will provide encouragement, guidance and positive reinforcement to help maintain concentration, build confidence and support positive learning habits.

The Role:

• Supporting a small group of pupils within Years 3 and 4
• Helping pupils stay engaged and focused during lessons
• Encouraging positive behaviour and participation
• Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to support progress

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, ADHD or additional learning needs
• Is calm, patient and resilient
• Can build positive and trusting relationships with children
• Has a proactive and encouraging approach
• Previous school or childcare experience is desirable
