About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school and provide support within a Key Stage 2 classroom. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping children achieve their full potential and creating a positive, engaging learning environment.

Working closely with the class teacher, you will support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally, helping to ensure every child can access the curriculum and make excellent progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and boost attainment.
• Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation.
• Provide targeted support to pupils with varying learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Support children's social, emotional, and personal development.
• Supervise pupils during break times, educational activities, and school events where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2.
• A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Confidence supporting literacy and numeracy activities.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

• Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3).
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
