A welcoming primary school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Inclusion Support Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's final year of primary school, helping her develop the confidence, resilience and self-belief needed to flourish both now and as she prepares for secondary education.

The pupil is a friendly and capable young person who experiences high levels of anxiety and low self-esteem. She needs a patient, understanding adult who can provide consistent encouragement, build a positive relationship and create opportunities for success throughout the school day.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support in and out of the classroom.
  • Promote inclusion and engagement in learning and school life.
  • Support emotional wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem.
  • Help the pupil develop strategies to manage anxiety.
  • Encourage independence and positive social interactions.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEND staff and parents to provide consistent support.
  • Act as a positive role model and trusted adult.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, ASD or SEMH needs.
  • Is compassionate, patient and resilient.
  • Can build strong relationships based on trust and consistency.
  • Understands the importance of emotional wellbeing in a child's development.
  • Is proactive, positive and committed to inclusive education.

What the School Offers

  • A supportive and welcoming team environment.
  • A rewarding role with the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • The chance to support a child through a key stage of their educational journey.

Requirements

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Ability to provide references covering the last 24 months.
  • Right to work in the UK.

If you are passionate about inclusion, relationship-building and helping children grow in confidence, we'd love to hear from you.
