We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in LS4. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and can make a positive impact on children's learning and development.
Essential Requirements
✅ Must be confident teaching phonics interventions and small group sessions
✅ Must have experience using the Little Wandle phonics programme
✅ Must be able to conduct and record EYFS observations accurately
✅ Experience supporting children within an EYFS setting
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
✅ A nurturing, proactive and child-centred approach
The Role
- Supporting teaching and learning across the EYFS classroom.
- Delivering Little Wandle phonics sessions to individuals and small groups.
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting support where required.
- Conducting detailed observations in line with EYFS requirements.
- Contributing to assessments, learning journeys and developmental records.
- Supporting children's social, emotional and academic development.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and wider school staff.
