Are you a commercially minded Finance Manager who enjoys improving businesses as much as producing the numbers?
We are recruiting a Finance Manager to join a small but growing, ambitious business in the tyre and fleet services sector. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the management team, you will combine hands-on financial management with commercial insight, supporting your direct report and working collaboratively across the business.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of the finance function, delivering reliable management information, strengthening cash flow management and developing reporting that helps the management team understand performance and act on opportunities.
With direct access to the Managing Director and a broad remit, you will have the opportunity to improve systems and processes, develop your team and make a visible impact on business performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance function and a small finance team.
- Deliver accurate, timely management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting.
- Analyse financial performance, explain variances and provide practical recommendations.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards and commercial reporting to support decision-making.
- Improve financial processes, systems and controls, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Partner with the Senior Leadership Team on business planning, investment decisions and future growth.
About you
You will be a qualified accountant. CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent, with experience leading a finance function in a commercial environment.
You will bring:
- A supportive and effective people management style, with experience setting clear expectations, managing performance and working collaboratively across the business.
- Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience.
- Commercial judgement and the ability to turn financial information into clear, practical advice.
- Excellent analytical and Excel skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to support and constructively challenge senior colleagues.
- You will enjoy working in a growing SME, balancing longer-term planning with day-to-day delivery and building strong relationships across the business.
- Experience in a fast-paced, service-led business, ideally within the tyre, fleet or automotive sector, with an understanding of the demands of a 24/7 operation.
Working pattern
The role is based at our Liverpool Head Office, where working closely with the whole business and being involved in the everyday operation will be important. We are open to discussing a hybrid arrangement with the right candidate.
Availability
An early start would be welcomed, so immediate availability or a short notice period would be advantageous.
