Protocol Education is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a successful secondary school in North Tyneside. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support, helping them access learning, build confidence and thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with SEND on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Assist pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia and other additional needs.
  • Adapt learning activities to support student progress.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral staff.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential.
