The Opportunity

We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established engineering business delivering major infrastructure and construction projects across Scotland.

Based from the Nottingham office, you will play a key role in supporting and delivering geotechnical projects, providing technical expertise and working closely with clients, contractors and project teams.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with occasional travel to project sites across Scotland, typically every few months, with all accommodation, food and travel expenses covered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver geotechnical and ground investigation projects.

  • Interpret ground investigation data and provide geotechnical recommendations.

  • Prepare factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.

  • Analyse site investigation results and develop engineering solutions.

  • Support the planning and delivery of large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.

  • Liaise with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.

  • Undertake occasional site visits across Scotland to oversee works and assess site conditions.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and quality standards.

  • Support project delivery through effective planning, organisation and technical problem-solving.

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Previous ground investigation and geotechnical engineering experience.

  • Experience working on large infrastructure, civil engineering or construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of site investigation techniques and geotechnical reporting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
