Teaching Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Sheffield. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing, helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils individually and in small groups to enhance learning and achievement.
  • Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering classroom activities.
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children with varying educational and behavioural needs.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and learning resources.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support school policies.
  • Provide pastoral support and help promote pupils' wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
