We’re looking for caring, enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistants to support pupils across SEN specialist schools and alternative provisions in Telford and Shropshire.

The schools we work with support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, complex learning needs and behavioural needs.

No previous SEN experience? No problem.

You don’t need classroom experience to get started. If you’ve worked in care, youth work, sports coaching, psychology, support work, or simply have the patience, empathy and enthusiasm to help young people thrive, we’d love to hear from you.

We’ll provide the training and support you need to build your confidence and develop your skills within a specialist education setting.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs to feel safe, understood and ready to learn
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support
  • Helping create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting teachers and SEN staff with individual learning and behaviour strategies
  • Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills
  • Bringing positivity, patience and resilience to every school day

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone caring, reliable and enthusiastic about working with young people
  • A genuine interest in SEN and specialist education
  • Experience in care, youth work, sports, psychology, support work or similar is beneficial, but not essential
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
  • The right to work in the UK

Why join Protocol Education?

  • Weekly PAYE pay
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities to suit your circumstances
  • FREE SEN and CPD training to help you develop your skills
  • Support from friendly, experienced consultants who are there to help
  • Access to opportunities across Telford, Shropshire and surrounding areas
  • The opportunity to build valuable experience and develop a long-term career in education or SEN support

We work with a range of SEN schools, alternative provisions and specialist settings across Telford and Shropshire. If this particular role isn’t the right location or setting for you, still get in touch — we may have another opportunity nearby that’s a better fit.

If you’re patient, positive and passionate about helping young people succeed, we want to hear from you.
