Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience

Protocol Education are working with a specialist setting in South Shields looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant with a passion for sport.
The pupils you'll be supporting may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education and can benefit from having a consistent adult who can engage them through their interests.
Sport can be a fantastic way to break down barriers, develop trust and teach young people important skills such as teamwork, resilience, communication and self-control.
Your day could include:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Building positive relationships
- Providing 1:1 support
- Supporting pupils in lessons
- Helping pupils regulate their emotions
- Encouraging positive behaviour
- Using sport and activity to engage pupils
- Supporting PE and outdoor activities
- Mentoring young people
- Helping pupils develop confidence
- Encouraging teamwork and communication
- Supporting break and lunchtime activities
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
We're looking for someone who can be firm but fair, maintain appropriate boundaries and remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour.

- PE Assistant
- Fitness Instructor
- Youth Worker
- Support Worker
- Behaviour Mentor
- Teaching Assistant
- Personal Trainer
- Sports Graduate
What matters most is your personality, resilience and ability to build relationships.
Previous SEMH experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
DBS requirement
If you already have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, that's great. If not, you can still apply, but you must be willing to complete a new Enhanced DBS check.
