Psychology Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant - South Shields

Location: South Shields
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Full-Time

We are recruiting a Psychology Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within a supportive school setting.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand experience working with children who require additional support before progressing into further study or a professional career.

Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis
Assisting with personalised learning plans
Supporting communication and social development
Working alongside teachers and therapists
Encouraging independence and confidence
Monitoring and recording student progress

Requirements

Psychology Degree (or related subject)
Passion for supporting young people
Positive and proactive attitude
Strong communication skills

Drivers are advantageous due to school locations and potential opportunities across nearby provisions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
