About the Company
Our client is a specialist contractor delivering complex remediation, enabling works and civil engineering projects across the UK.
Operating within major infrastructure and operational project environments, they support large-scale schemes involving remediation, earthworks and associated enabling works for Tier 1 contractors and blue-chip clients.
With a strong pipeline of secured projects and continued growth across the business, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex operational projects across multiple UK locations.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the operational and commercial delivery of remediation and enabling works projects across the UK.
This is a senior site-based delivery role requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects within fast-paced contractor-led environments.
You will work closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and in line with commercial objectives.
This role would suit someone with a strong remediation background and hands-on experience delivering enabling works, earthworks and complex operational projects alongside Tier 1 contractors.
The key responsibilities for this Senior Project Manager role are:
- Lead the safe and successful delivery of remediation and enabling works projects across multiple sites
- Manage project performance across programme, commercial delivery, quality and health & safety
- Coordinate operational teams, subcontractors and project resources across concurrent projects
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, Tier 1 contractors and key stakeholders
- Manage project costs, forecasting, invoicing and commercial reporting
- Lead project meetings, client reviews and operational planning activities
- Oversee project documentation, contract compliance and reporting requirements
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with NEC/JCT contract requirements and CDM regulations
- Support and mentor operational project teams across delivery activities
- Identify and manage project risks while implementing mitigation strategies
Experience required for this Senior Project Manager role are:
- Significant experience delivering remediation projects within contractor-led operational environments
- Strong experience across enabling works and earthworks projects
- Experience working alongside Tier 1 contractors on major infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing projects typically valued at £4M+
- Strong commercial awareness including cost control and subcontractor management
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects independently
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management capability
- Strong understanding of NEC3/JCT contracts and CDM 2015 Regulations
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Project Manager role are:
- HNC or Degree qualified in Engineering, Environmental Management or similar
- PMP or equivalent project management qualification
- Chartership or working towards chartership
- SMSTS, CSCS or WAMITAB qualifications
- Experience within complex operational or brownfield environments
