Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Start Date: ASAP / September 2026

Protocol Education are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Barking & Dagenahm 

The successful candidate will support pupils across different year groups, either working 1:1 with individual pupils or within a small group setting, depending on the needs of the school.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
• Supporting pupils with their learning, development and engagement
• Helping pupils access the curriculum and build confidence
• Working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team
• Supporting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment
• Adapting support to meet the individual needs of pupils

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
• A caring, patient and supportive approach
• Confident working with different year groups
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Passionate about supporting children to reach their potential
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, LSA or similar is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
