Science Teacher
Science teacher wanted. Curiosity creators, future shapers, and occasional Bunsen burner enthusiasts encouraged to apply.
Remember that teacher who made science feel like magic?
The one who turned chemical reactions into jaw-dropping moments, made the solar system feel within reach, and somehow convinced an entire class that learning about cells was actually interesting?
We're looking for someone who can bring that same spark to the classroom.
A welcoming secondary school in Barnsley is searching for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join their team. Whether your specialism is Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or you love teaching across all three disciplines, this is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals, and problem-solvers.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who believes that great teaching goes beyond textbooks and helps young people develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
What you'll be doing
As the school's new Science Teacher, you'll:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teach your specialist subject at GCSE level
- Create a positive classroom environment where pupils feel confident asking questions
- Bring scientific concepts to life through practical experiments and creative learning
- Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback
- Support pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential
- Work collaboratively with an experienced and supportive Science department
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and department
You'll have the freedom to teach creatively while being supported by a leadership team that values both staff wellbeing and student achievement.
