Secondary Teaching Assistants – Barnsley

Contract: Day-to-day supply and long-term placements
Salary: £92.63- £100 per day
Location: Barnsley

What you'll be doing:

Supporting students aged 11 to 16 in lessons, small group interventions, or on a 1:1 basis
Encouraging engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour in the classroom
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support student progress
Assisting pupils with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs
Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where every student can succeed

What we're looking for:

Experience working with children or young people, whether in schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, or similar settings
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A positive, reliable, and adaptable approach
A genuine passion for supporting young people and making a difference in their education
Previous classroom experience is desirable but not essential
