General SEN Teacher, KS3

Location: Street, Somerset
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: September 2026

We're working with a welcoming specialist school in Street that supports KS3 pupils with a range of additional learning needs. The school is looking for a caring, adaptable and confident teacher who can build positive relationships, create engaging lessons and help every pupil celebrate their progress, no matter how big or small.

This is a school where teamwork really matters. You'll be surrounded by colleagues who support one another, share ideas and believe every child deserves the chance to thrive.

What you'll be doing

  • Teaching a KS3 class of pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Planning creative, engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs.
  • Creating a calm, safe and positive classroom environment.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider school team.
  • Celebrating every achievement and helping pupils grow in confidence, independence and resilience.

We'd love to hear from you if you

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Build strong relationships through patience, consistency and kindness.
  • Can adapt your teaching to suit different learning styles.
  • Believe that every pupil deserves the opportunity to succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
