Protocol Education is working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Bath and Keynsham that are looking for enthusiastic, caring and adaptable Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Key Stage 2.

This is an opportunity to be more than just classroom support. You'll play an important role in helping children develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning, whilst providing the encouragement and consistency they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Whether you're an aspiring teacher, psychology graduate, sports coach, youth worker, or simply someone passionate about supporting children, this role offers valuable experience in highly supportive school environments.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils across KS2 classrooms with their learning and development
• Delivering targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy and social skills
• Supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs within mainstream settings
• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting emotional wellbeing
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Helping create an engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Working alongside teachers to ensure pupils remain motivated and engaged
• Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns appropriately

About You

• Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential
• Patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure
• Confident communicating with children, staff and parents
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable
• SEN or SEMH experience is beneficial but not essential
• A graduate, aspiring teacher, coach, mentor, youth worker or someone with transferable skills
• Committed to making a positive difference every day

What We Need to Clear You

• Passport/proof of right to work in the UK
• Two proofs of address (such as a driving licence, utility bill, or council tax statement)
• A CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
• Two years of references, including childcare or education references where applicable
• An overseas police check if you have lived abroad for three months or more in the past five years
