We are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large and well-regarded 11–18 secondary school in Bedlington, South East Northumberland. Serving students from Bedlington and the surrounding communities, this school combines strong academic ambition with a deeply rooted community ethos.

Your Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs

  • Adapt learning materials to ensure access to the curriculum

  • Support emotional regulation and engagement in lessons

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO and pastoral teams

  • Encourage independence, confidence and resilience

You may support students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs or specific learning difficulties.

  • Experience working with young people (education, youth work, care or similar)

  • Calm, patient and consistent approach

  • Strong relationship-building skills

  • Commitment to inclusive education

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
