Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor – Data Centres

I am currently on the lookout for an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor for a major Data Centre project in Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering contractor operating within the Data Centre and Critical Infrastructure sector, with a significant pipeline of European Data Centre projects extending over the next 5+ years.

The successful candidate will take commercial ownership of the electrical package, managing costs, procurement, subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for the electrical package from procurement through to final account.
• Measure electrical works and assess completed works for payment.
• Manage subcontractor valuations, payments and commercial performance.
• Prepare and manage monthly valuations and payment applications.
• Manage variations, change control and commercial correspondence.
• Identify, value and negotiate variations with subcontractors and clients.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, margins and cash flow.
• Support procurement and commercial negotiations with electrical subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage subcontractor accounts and ensure commercial obligations are maintained.
• Prepare and agree final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager and wider project team.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Electrical Scope

Experience across major Data Centre electrical packages, including:

• HV / LV distribution
• Switchgear
• UPS systems
• Generators
• Critical power systems
• Electrical containment
• Cabling and distribution
• BMS / EPMS interfaces
• Associated electrical infrastructure

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor within electrical or M&E contracting.
• Strong electrical commercial experience.
• Proven experience with measurement, valuations, payments and variations.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Experience managing final accounts and subcontractor accounts.
• Previous Data Centre, Mission Critical, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or similarly complex project experience highly desirable.
• Strong procurement and subcontract management experience.
• Excellent commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work closely with project, engineering and commercial teams.
