The Role

I'm hiring a Section Engineer to take responsibility for the operational delivery of complete civil engineering work packages.

You will manage site activities from preconstruction through to project handover, ensuring work is delivered safely, on programme and in accordance with technical specifications.

This is a client-facing position involving the supervision of engineers, subcontractors and site teams across projects throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities of the Section Engineer

• Manage the delivery of civil engineering packages from preconstruction through to completion

• Act as the main client-facing representative on site

• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

• Prepare RAMS, work package plans and task briefings

• Supervise site engineers, subcontractors, plant and labour

• Carry out setting out, surveying and checking activities

• Monitor progress against the construction programme

• Maintain quality standards and complete required inspections

• Coordinate with design teams, clients and project stakeholders

• Resolve technical and logistical issues

• Maintain accurate site diaries, as-built drawings and QA documentation

• Support the Construction Manager with budgets, procurement and resource planning

• Implement health, safety and environmental procedures

• Assist with bids and preconstruction planning

• Manage the handover process at project completion

Requirements

• Previous Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer experience

• Experience working for or alongside Tier 1 contractors

• Proven experience managing civil engineering work packages

• Strong setting out and surveying capability

• Experience supervising engineers, subcontractors and site teams

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications

• Good knowledge of temporary works

• Experience producing RAMS, work package plans and task briefings

• Strong understanding of quality assurance and site documentation

• Confident communicating with clients and project stakeholders

• CSCS card

• SMSTS or SSSTS

• CITB Temporary Works Coordinator qualification

• Full UK driving licence

• Willingness to travel and work on sites across the UK
