About the Role

This is a senior leadership position within the structural team, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the function.

The role is hands-on, combining technical delivery with leadership responsibilities. You will be responsible for delivering design work, signing off designs and setting the direction of the structural offering.

You will also work closely with development infrastructure and geotechnical teams, contributing to a fully integrated design approach.

There is a clear pathway for progression, with the opportunity to move into a Director-level position within 2-5 years.

You will also take responsibility for recruitment.

The key responsibilities for this Principal / Associate Structural Engineer role are:

• Lead the growth of the structural engineering function

• Deliver hands-on structural design using Tekla Tedds

• Sign off and approve structural designs

• Liaise with clients

• Prepare fee proposals

• Establish standards, templates and design packages

• Work closely with development infrastructure and geotechnical teams

• Design ground structures including culverts and slab/pad foundations

• Contribute to building frame design

• Lead recruitment and team growth

Experience required for this Principal / Associate Structural Engineer role are:

• Chartered Structural Engineer

• Strong experience in structural design

• Experience working on residential, commercial, industrial or leisure schemes

• Ability to deliver hands-on design work

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Principal / Associate Structural Engineer role are:

• Experience using Tekla Tedds

• Experience working alongside infrastructure and geotechnical teams

• Ambitious and motivated mindset
