Working Pattern: Hybrid (4 days office / 1 day home)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Water Estimator to join a growing team delivering essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a background in civil engineering, utilities, or the water sector to play a key role in securing and delivering major infrastructure schemes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of projects, including clean water and wastewater networks, pumping stations, treatment facilities, pipelines, and associated civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Review drawings, specifications, contract documents, and client requirements.

Produce accurate take-offs and quantify materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor requirements.

Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.

Identify project risks and opportunities during the tender stage.

Develop pricing strategies to ensure commercially competitive submissions.

Liaise with operational, engineering, commercial, and procurement teams throughout the bid process.

Attend internal tender review meetings and contribute to bid presentations where required.

Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.

Support handovers to delivery teams following successful contract awards.
Requirements

Previous experience in an Estimator position within the water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors.

Strong understanding of infrastructure and civil engineering construction methods.

Experience pricing projects such as pipelines, pumping stations, treatment works, utilities, or related infrastructure schemes.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.

Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
-
Experience working on AMP frameworks or regulated water industry projects.

Knowledge of NEC contracts.

HNC/HND or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
