We are seeking an experienced and passionate Alternative Provision Manager to lead and develop our provision for children and young people who require additional support to engage successfully in education. As Alternative Provision Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the provision, lead and support staff, and work collaboratively with students, families, schools, and external agencies to deliver outstanding outcomes. You will champion inclusion and create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the alternative provision, ensuring high standards of practice and student support.
- Develop and support staff through effective leadership, coaching, and professional development.
- Promote positive behaviour strategies and support students with SEMH needs.
- Work closely with parents, carers, schools, and external professionals to create tailored support plans.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement, ensuring interventions are impactful.
- Produce clear, accurate reports and maintain detailed records.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times and promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to the strategic development of the provision.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Extensive experience working with children and young people facing significant challenges.
- Experience of leading, managing, and developing others.
- A strong understanding of behaviour, SEMH needs, and barriers to learning.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and raising aspirations.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and professionals.
- Resilience, empathy, and high expectations for every young person.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
