Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with autism? Do you want to make a genuine difference every day?

We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist autism school in the Pilning (BS35) area. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to engage with learning, develop their independence, and achieve their individual goals.

The Role

  • Support students with autism both in and out of the classroom.
  • Build positive relationships and provide consistent encouragement.
  • Assist with learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, communication, and social development.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children, young people, or adults with additional needs is desirable.
  • Patient, resilient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learners.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working as part of a wider team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND.

Essential Requirement

Due to the location of the school and limited public transport links, candidates must have access to a car and be able to travel to the site independently.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
