Year 5 is a crucial stage in a child's learning journey. As pupils prepare for the transition into their final year of primary school, they need a teacher who can inspire confidence, encourage independence, and develop the resilience they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong relationships, delivering engaging lessons, and helping pupils reach their full potential during an important stage of Upper Key Stage 2.

The Role

As the Year 5 Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
  • Develop pupils' confidence in reading, writing, mathematics, and problem-solving
  • Create a positive and purposeful classroom environment where every child feels valued
  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs, including SEND
  • Support pupils in developing independence, resilience, and a love of learning
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback that drives achievement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and wider support staff

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils as they prepare for the challenges and opportunities of Year 6.

  • Well-resourced classrooms and strong curriculum planning
  • Opportunities for continued professional development
  • A culture where staff contributions are recognised and celebrated

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
  • Delivers engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire pupils to achieve their best
  • Is confident managing a classroom and maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning
  • Can effectively support children with varying abilities and additional needs
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Is committed to fostering curiosity, confidence, and independence
