SEMH Teaching Assistant
We’re working with a welcoming, community-driven primary school in BS11 looking for a calm, resilient 1:1 support professional to work with a child with SEMH needs.
This is a school that genuinely walks the walk when it comes to inclusion. Every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to grow, both academically and emotionally.
You’ll be joining a team that believes education is about the whole child, not just the timetable, and where relationships, consistency, and care come first.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
- Building trust, routines, and a sense of safety
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Working closely with teachers, SENDCo, and wider support staff
- Celebrating the small wins, because they matter here
What the school offers
- A supportive, inclusive environment where no child is left behind
- Strong focus on emotional wellbeing and personal development
- A team that values patience, empathy, and consistency
- A real sense of community, you’ll feel it from day one
What we’re looking for
- Experience with SEMH, SEND, or behaviour support
- Calm, patient, and able to stay grounded when things get tricky
- Someone who builds relationships first, everything else follows
- A team player who wants to make a genuine difference
What you’ll get from us
- Weekly pay from £14.30 per hour (PAYE, no umbrella faff)
- FREE access to our CPD Academy
- Ongoing support from a consultant who actually picks up the phone
- Opportunities to grow in SEND and specialist settings
