Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are looking for a committed and resilient SEN Learning Partner to join the specialist resource base within a welcoming primary school in North Bristol. This is a full-time role supporting pupils who require additional help to access learning, regulate their emotions and build positive relationships within school.
The role will involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN and SEMH needs
- Supporting children with emotional regulation, communication and behaviour
- Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Helping pupils engage with learning through structured, individualised activities
- Recognising triggers and responding calmly to challenging or dysregulated behaviour
- Supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Working closely with teachers, SEND staff and other professionals to implement individual support plans
- Helping to create a safe, consistent and nurturing environment
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH or additional behavioural needs
- Is calm, patient and able to remain consistent when behaviour becomes challenging
- Understands the importance of relationship-based and trauma-informed approaches
- Is confident using positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques
- Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each child
- Is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed in school
Experience within a specialist provision, resource base, SEN setting or mainstream primary school would be particularly valuable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
