Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a specialist school in Thornbury.

This rewarding role involves working closely with students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, learning difficulties, and communication challenges. You will play a vital role in helping pupils access education, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Your Responsibilities:

✅ Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
✅ Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions
✅ Building positive and trusting relationships with students
✅ Encouraging engagement, independence, and social development
✅ Supporting students with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
✅ Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

We Are Looking For:

✔ Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
✔ A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
✔ A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
✔ Graduates, support workers, care workers, youth workers, and those with transferrable experience are encouraged to apply
