About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading global project and programme management consultancy delivering some of the world’s most complex mission critical infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth across the APAC region, they are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Hot Aisle Containment to support the delivery of large-scale hyperscale data centre developments.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional with specialist experience in hot aisle containment, data centre infrastructure and technical design coordination to take on a regional leadership role, working alongside clients, consultants and contractors to deliver complex new-build projects across APAC.

The Role

As the Technical Lead – Hot Aisle Containment, you will provide technical leadership throughout the design and delivery process, ensuring hot aisle containment systems are fully coordinated, technically robust and aligned with client standards and project requirements.

Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will review technical documentation, coordinate containment interfaces with piping, structure and busway systems, and support the successful delivery of high-profile mission critical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical review and coordination of hot aisle containment systems across major data centre developments.
• Review engineering documentation, drawings and technical specifications to ensure compliance with client standards, technical requirements and industry best practice.
• Develop and review detailed containment designs using SolidWorks and other relevant engineering/design tools.
• Coordinate hot aisle containment systems with piping, structural elements, busways and wider MEP infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance during design reviews, resolving engineering challenges and driving design optimisation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, manufacturers and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review shop drawings, fabrication details and technical submittals to ensure containment designs are suitable for installation and construction.
• Ensure containment solutions are fully coordinated with data hall layouts, equipment, cooling systems, electrical infrastructure and structural requirements.
• Support QA/QC reviews and ensure technical deliverables meet programme, cost, quality and constructability objectives.
• Identify and resolve technical interfaces and clashes between containment, piping, structure, busways and other critical infrastructure.
• Support the development of technical documentation, specifications and scope of works.
• Participate in client meetings, technical workshops and design coordination sessions.

About You

We are keen to speak with experienced Technical Leads, Mechanical Engineers, Data Centre Engineers, Design Managers or Containment Specialists who have a strong background delivering mission critical infrastructure projects, ideally within the data centre sector.

You will ideally have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience within data centres, mission critical infrastructure, mechanical engineering or specialist containment systems.
• Strong technical understanding of hot aisle containment systems and data hall environments.
• Proven experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D design/modelling software.
• Strong understanding of piping, structural interfaces and busway coordination within data centre environments.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings, fabrication drawings, shop drawings and engineering documentation.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams across complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of constructability, installation requirements and technical coordination within live construction environments.
• Knowledge of international engineering standards and data centre design best practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and technical leadership skills.
