Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEN 1:1 (EYFS)

Location: Chelmsford
Hours: Flexible (Full-time / Part-time considered)
Contract: Ongoing / Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a caring and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support within EYFS for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming Chelmsford setting. This role is ideal for someone patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting early development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Assist with learning, play, and social development
  • Implement individual learning plans and strategies
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment

Requirements

  • Previous SEN experience (essential)
  • Experience working within EYFS (essential)
  • Knowledge of additional needs such as ASD, speech & language, or behavioural needs (desirable)
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Relevant childcare or support qualification (desirable but not essential)
