SEN Teaching Assistant
Protocol Education is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Chelmsford on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them thrive both academically and socially. You will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.
Whether you have previous school experience or have gained transferable skills working with children in other settings, we encourage you to apply.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children
- Deliver targeted interventions and tailored support strategies
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Promote engagement, confidence, independence, and resilience
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Celebrate progress and achievements, no matter how big or small
