Assistant Quantity Surveyor

I’m currently working with an established construction business that is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has gained some experience within construction and is looking to develop their commercial career within a busy and supportive environment.

Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you will gain exposure to a range of quantity surveying, procurement and estimating activities across live projects.

The role will involve:

• Assisting with subcontractor orders and payments
• Supporting valuations and cost reporting
• Monitoring budgets and project expenditure
• Assisting with procurement and supplier management
• Supporting estimating and tendering activities
• Helping with forecasting and commercial administration
• Working closely with site and commercial teams

The ideal candidate will have some previous experience within a construction or commercial environment. Residential experience would be advantageous, but candidates from other construction backgrounds will also be considered.

You will need good numerical and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop your commercial knowledge.

A relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification would be beneficial, although relevant practical experience will also be considered.

A full UK driving licence is desirable.

The position is based in the wider North West, within commuting distance of Chester.
