Salary: £25,185–£26,402 FTE (Actual salary approximately £22,121, based on Grade 4, Point 9)

A specialist SEN school in Cranbrook is looking to appoint a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing environment where every day brings the chance to positively impact a young person's education and wellbeing.
Whether you already have experience in an SEN setting or come from a background in youth work, care, coaching or support work, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Build positive relationships that help students develop confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing using consistent support strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists and pastoral teams to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.
About You
  • Experience supporting children or young people is desirable, but not essential.
  • A calm, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine interest in working within a specialist SEN environment.
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
