SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Thornton Heath

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them thrive in the classroom? We are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Thornton Heath area.

This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and Moderate Learning Difficulties. You will play an important role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

The Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Help implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • SEN experience is beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided
  • A patient, positive, and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Backgrounds in education, support work, care, youth work, sports coaching, or mentoring are welcomed
