Senior Quantity Surveyor - Residential Housebuilding
Location: Derby
Salary: Up to £70,000 plus package

A leading residential construction business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Senior QS to play a key role in delivering successful residential developments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction, ideally gained with a main contractor or housebuilder, with proven experience managing the commercial delivery of housing projects from procurement through to final account.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing the commercial performance of residential projects

• Overseeing cost control, valuations, forecasting, and financial reporting

• Managing subcontractor accounts, packages, variations, and final accounts

• Leading procurement activities and ensuring effective package management

• Working closely with site teams and senior stakeholders to drive project success

• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

• Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards

Ideal experience:

• Senior Quantity Surveyor experience within residential construction

• Background with a main contractor, residential developer, or housebuilder

• Strong experience managing residential projects and subcontract packages

• Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills

• Confident stakeholder management and ability to work autonomously

Package: Up to £70,000 plus a competitive benefits package.
