Salary: Grade 6 SCP 12–17 (£27,711–£30,060 pro rata, depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only + 5 INSET days

Role Type: Temporary to Permanent

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team and help deliver high-quality learning experiences across the school.


The Role

This is an exciting temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an experienced HLTA looking to make a lasting impact within a supportive primary school environment. As our HLTA, you will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to support teaching and learning throughout the school. You will play a key role in raising pupil achievement, delivering interventions, and occasionally leading whole-class learning.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons across the primary age range.
  • Lead learning activities and supervise whole classes when required.
  • Deliver targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school events.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold HLTA status or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Have experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrate strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
  • Be confident leading learning and managing groups of pupils.
  • Have a calm, positive and flexible approach.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
