UV Technician

Location: Field-based, UK-wide
Travel: Regular UK travel with overnight stays required
International travel: May be required occasionally

We are looking for a UV Technician to support the servicing, maintenance and installation of UV disinfection systems across water and wastewater treatment sites.

The role combines hands-on site work with planning, coordination, reporting and compliance. You will work alongside Field Service Engineers to ensure maintenance activities are safely and efficiently delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and inspect UV treatment systems

  • Clean and replace UV quartz sleeves, lamps and associated components

  • Support preventative maintenance, breakdowns and system upgrades

  • Assist with minor mechanical disassembly and reassembly

  • Prepare tools, parts and equipment for planned site works

  • Complete service reports, timesheets and compliance documentation

  • Support RAMS, permits and site safety requirements

  • Liaise with customers and site contacts to coordinate works

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and equipment serviced

  • Maintain safe and tidy working areas on operational sites

Experience Required

  • Experience in an industrial, utilities, engineering or construction environment

  • Previous experience supporting site-based engineering or maintenance work

  • Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand tools

  • Strong organisational, communication and planning skills

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card

  • CSCS or ECS Card

  • Confined Space Training

  • First Aid or Manual Handling training

This is a varied opportunity to work on critical water infrastructure, combining hands-on technical work with customer interaction, planning and compliance. The role would suit someone with a practical engineering or maintenance background who is looking to develop specialist experience within the water and wastewater sector.
