Could you be the person who helps a child feel safe, supported, and ready to learn?

We're working with a number of welcoming and inclusive schools across Doncaster who are looking for caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join their teams.

If you're patient, compassionate, and passionate about making a difference, this could be the perfect opportunity. Every day you'll play a vital role in supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them grow in confidence, develop independence, and achieve their potential.

No two days are ever the same, but every day is rewarding.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll become an important part of a pupil's educational journey.

You'll support learning in and out of the classroom, help pupils overcome barriers, and provide emotional and practical support that enables them to thrive.

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff, you'll help create a positive, inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued, understood, and successful.

✨ What You'll Be Doing

✅ Supporting pupils with SEND during lessons and structured learning activities

✅ Adapting learning approaches to suit individual needs and abilities

✅ Encouraging communication, engagement, and independence

✅ Providing personal care where required, always with dignity and respect

✅ Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour

✅ Working collaboratively with teachers and wider support teams

✅ Helping to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment

✅ Celebrating progress and achievements, however small

What We're Looking For

✔️ Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, education, care, or support work backgrounds

✔️ A patient, nurturing, and reliable approach

✔️ Confidence supporting learning activities and personal care where required

✔️ Strong communication and teamwork skills

✔️ A genuine commitment to inclusion and supporting every child's development

✔️ A positive attitude and willingness to learn

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Sometimes the skills gained through life experience, care work, youth work, healthcare, or family support can be just as valuable as classroom experience.
