About the Role

As a Senior Building Services Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services solutions across a diverse portfolio of energy, industrial and commercial projects.

Working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment, you will take projects from concept through to completion, providing technical leadership while coordinating closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers and process specialists.

This role is focused on the design of base-build mechanical building services including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and utilities systems rather than manufacturing or process equipment.

Alongside project delivery, you will mentor junior engineers, develop client relationships and contribute to maintaining the high technical standards the business is known for.

The key responsibilities for this Senior Building Services Engineer role are:

- Lead mechanical building services design across industrial, commercial and energy projects

- Deliver projects from concept design through to construction and final handover

- Design HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, utilities and life safety systems

- Develop building services solutions for laboratories, cleanrooms, pharmaceutical and manufacturing facilities

- Coordinate multidisciplinary designs with structural, architectural, electrical and process engineering teams

- Produce technical reports, calculations, specifications and tender documentation

- Support construction activities through site visits, technical queries and contractor coordination

- Ensure designs comply with CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS and EN standards

- Mentor junior engineers and undertake technical reviews to maintain quality standards

- Build strong client relationships and represent the business at design and project meetings

Experience required for this Senior Building Services Engineer role are:

- Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline

- Minimum seven years' experience delivering mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment

- Strong experience across industrial, energy or commercial building projects

- Proven knowledge of HVAC, mechanical utilities and building services systems

- Experience working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams

- Excellent communication and client-facing skills

- Ability to lead projects with minimal supervision

- Based in Ireland with the ability to travel occasionally within Europe

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Senior Building Services Engineer role are:

- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership

- Experience designing ATEX environments, laboratories or cleanrooms

- Knowledge of Navisworks and Bluebeam

- Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences or manufacturing sectors

- Strong understanding of consultancy quality assurance processes
