About the Company
Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the utilities sector. They work on a range of schemes that support essential services, with a strong focus on safety, quality and collaboration.
With a healthy pipeline of work, they are looking to strengthen their team by appointing an experienced Project Manager to deliver projects within the Northumbrian Water framework.
About the Role
This Project Manager role will see you taking responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering schemes from initial planning through to completion. You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, commercial staff and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
The role offers the opportunity to manage projects across the Northumbrian Water framework, overseeing programme delivery, commercial performance, health and safety, quality and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
The key responsibilities for this Project Manager role are:
- Lead the delivery of civil engineering projects from inception through to completion
- Manage health, safety and environmental performance across all sites
- Prepare construction phase plans and review RAMS
- Coordinate project programmes and monitor progress against key milestones
- Lead site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders
- Produce project reports and provide regular progress updates
- Chair internal and client progress meetings
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Support the commercial team with variations, quotations and subcontractor management
- Identify project risks and opportunities and communicate these to senior management
- Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality standards
- Complete project handover documentation and health and safety files
- Mentor and support members of the project team
Experience required for this Project Manager role are:
- HNC, HND or Degree in a relevant discipline
- Previous experience managing civil engineering projects
- Experience delivering schemes from design through to site completion
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS (5 Day)
- Good IT skills
- UK Driving Licence
- Strong civil engineering background
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Project Manager role are:
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator experience
- Experience using planning software
- Design experience
- Experience using Northumbrian Water corporate systems
- Leadership training
