Summary
An independent consultancy specialising in the provision of bespoke landscape design, ecology and specialised management services is looking to expand their technical team, bringing in an experienced CAD technician to help deliver and further develop their service.
Based from their Edinburgh office they are working to deliver an exciting portfolio of long-term, landscape led projects across the UK and Ireland.
Role Overview:
As a CAD Technician you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of a wide range of landscape projects
You will work closely with design professionals as part of multi-disciplinary teams, with support and direction, to create technical drawings, models, and visualizations - working with CAD, graphic design (ideally) (Adobe), QGIS and other related technical skills e.g. Correo. You will:
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team, to develop designs, plans and drawings
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details
- Undertake site visits when required to obtain site information and site records
- Support production information for our ecology team, including creating plans and shape files for statutory assessments
- Assist with GPS equipment and data points where handsets need data take-off or upload prior to site work, and you'll prepare plans with GPS data obtained
- Assist in the coordination of project documentation, undertake research, support report preparation and develop specifications
- Ensure ongoing knowledge refresh to maintain current with industry trends, regulations and advancements in technology applications
To be suitable for this CAD Technician role you will have;
- Proven experience as a design assistant, CAD technician in a similar role
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe CS, QGIS
- Excellent technical drawing skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Effective in report compilation and technical research skills
- Ability to interpret, prepare and develop landscape architectural and architectural drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to take responsibility for projects and work autonomously, taking responsibility for own workload
- Willing to adapt and work flexibly responding proactively to the demands of busy team with a diverse workload
Must have UK experience and full right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Salary:
Circa £28,000 - £35,000per annum and package
