Inclusion Support Assistant – Ferryhill

A specialist SEMH school in Ferryhill is seeking dedicated Inclusion Support Assistants to join their team for the new academic year.

The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural and educational support. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every young person has the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Delivering intervention and mentoring support
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Assisting pupils during transitions and breaktimes
  • Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff
  • Recording and monitoring pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children or young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Passionate about inclusion and pupil wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
