SEN Learning Support Assistant
Some roles are about supporting learning.
This one is about changing lives.
We're looking for a resilient, confident SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a Primary PRU in Ferryhill. The children here need more than classroom support. They need someone who can stay calm when things get tough, build trust when barriers go up, and show up every day ready to make a difference.
Let's be honest. Behaviour can be challenging. Some pupils have experienced significant trauma, struggle with emotional regulation, and may test boundaries. That's why we're looking for someone who isn't easily rattled and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
You'll be:
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs
• Building positive relationships through consistency and patience
• Helping pupils engage with learning, even on the difficult days
• Working alongside a supportive team who understand the challenges
You'll need:
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A calm, resilient approach
• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
• A genuine desire to help pupils succeed
This isn't the easiest role you'll ever do.
But it might just be the most rewarding.
